Safety Rules
Last updated: 7 November 2026
Loafalong is about company, nothing more. These rules apply to every companion and every client, every time.
1. Who can use Loafalong
- You must be 18 or over. Under-18s may not book, be booked, or attend a booking.
- Companions complete the checks below; checks cannot guarantee anyone’s behaviour.
2. Identity verification
- Companions complete three checks: identity verification using government photo ID by our payment provider before their first payout; a short video call with our team before approval, showing government photo ID so we can match it to their face; and two references that we check.
- Payment-provider ID verification is handled by the provider. The video call is not recorded, and we do not store copies of the ID shown or other ID documents ourselves; we keep only a note that the checks were passed.
- Profiles must use your real first name and a recent photo.
3. What checks mean
We check identity and references to help reduce risk, not to guarantee safety. Loafalong is not a care or emergency service.
4. First meetings happen in public
- A first meeting between a client and companion must be in a public place: a café, park, library, shopping centre, or similar busy area.
- No first meetings at private homes, hotel rooms, or in private vehicles.
- Later bookings at a private location are only allowed if both sides agree in the app beforehand and the location is shared with Loafalong.
5. Strictly platonic
- Strictly platonic: no romance, no sexual services, no dating. No romantic or sexual activity, requests, or remarks — ever.
- No physical contact beyond a handshake. (Offering an arm to help someone walk safely is fine if asked.)
- No sharing of intimate images, and no requests for them.
- Breaking this rule means an immediate, permanent ban, and requests for romance, sexual services or dating may be reported to the police.
6. No alcohol-led bookings
- Bookings may not be centred on drinking (e.g. pub crawls, "come drinking with me").
- A drink with a meal is fine, but a companion may end a booking at any time if someone is intoxicated.
- No illegal drugs, at any time.
7. Check-in, check-out and emergency contact
- Both sides check in in the app at the start of a booking and check out at the end.
- Companions share live location with Loafalong for the duration of a booking.
- Every user adds an emergency contact. If a check-out is missed, we contact the user, then their emergency contact, then the emergency services if needed.
- An in-app help button alerts Loafalong immediately. In an emergency, always call 112 or 999 first.
8. Ending a booking
Either person may end a booking at any time if they feel uncomfortable, with no penalty for leaving for safety reasons.
9. Reporting and banning
- Report any concern in the app or at hello@loafalong.com. Reports are reviewed by a person, usually within 24 hours.
- We may suspend an account while we investigate.
- Serious or repeated breaches lead to a permanent ban, and banned users may not open a new account.
- We cooperate with the police when lawfully requested.
